Q: Where did you start your career?
A: I started my Career as an apprentice French Polisher at a very prestigious cabinet makers in England. I worked on a piece that went to the Queen Mother. Loved the job hated clocking on.
Q: What do you love about your job?
A: I love being creative, time has no clock, that's when I'm fulfilled.
Q: Tell us about your average day?
A: My average day starts at 7, with emails. I then spend 2- 4 hours working on new pieces and some bespoke work. This is both at the bench and replica rolex watches with a large sheet of paper. The afternoon is taken with meeting clients, fittings and solving problems the team may have. I leave at 5.30 to finish my day with my family.
Q: Is there anything you dread doing?
A: Dread, I dread working with supplies that don't care the way we do. I try as hard as possible to find suppliers that see through our eyes. Its all about the finished object. It doesn't matter how hard or difficult it was to get their. Its the finish that counts. We have a great team now, but its taken years and is an ongoing position.
Q: Your advice to someone wanting a fashion career?
A: Career advise ; Follow your passion, Express your passion. Money will follow. Don't give up.
Q: Is it what you know or who you know?
A: Who you know, is good, it can get you in, but its what you know will sustain you.
Q: What inspires you?
A: One of My inspiration comes from nature. I stand and appreciate the colours and tones of leaves through the seasons. I'm fascinated at how well the combinations work. True brilliance at work. I don't translate any of this directly into my Jewellery. It gives me this ability to constantly stand at a different view point.
